Sa’adiya has had a varied career in a number of roles, bringing her characteristic drive and inter-personal
skills to every position she has occupied. Prior to starting work, she received a Bsc in Economics from Brunel
University, following that up with an Msc in Finance and development from the School of African Studies
(SOAS) in London.
After completing her education, she joined the Debt Management Office as a technical assistant to the
Director-General. In addition to her responsibilities organising and drafting documents, presentations and
conferences for the Director-General's office, she played a key role in a number of policy objectives. She
brought her experience and nous to bear on policy dialogues concerning debt reduction strategy with the Paris
and London clubs. She helped draft the “fiscal responsibility” bill, which was passed into law. She also
contributed to the National Borrowing Guidelines, interfacing with key parties to deliver a rounded policy.
In 2009, Sa’adiya joined Urban Shelter Limited as a Senior Manager to the Chairman office. In a role requiring
a deft hand and a steady touch, she streamlined the operations of the Chairman's office, increasing efficiency
and productivity. Her success in this role led to her promotion as Chief Operating Officer, where she aims to
leverage her organisational talents to move the company forward. In this new position, Sa’adiya has outlined a
bold new corporate strategy that seeks to address imbalances in the housing market and better position Urban
Shelter's capacity to take leadership role within it. Her ambition for Urban Shelter includes affordable
housing – for which she has a particular passion – and she seeks to provide innovative means for the delivery
and payment of these structures.
Sa’adiya is a board director in a number of companies including Shelter Suites & Hotels Ltd and Urban
Shelter Infrastructure Ltd. She is passionate about gender equality and lend her voice to some NGOs as part
of her civic duties.
He was recently appointed AGM-Building Services overseeing Quantity Survey, Architecture, Mech anical &
Electrical Units of Urban Shelter. He is responsible for the design team, quality control and cost management

Muktar spent 5 years in the New York Institute of Technology obtaining a Bachelor of Architecture Degree,
where Cum Laude Honours was awarded with the B. Arch Diploma. He was presented with an ‘award of excellence’
at Commencement from the New York Council of the American Society of Registered Architects. Upon graduation he
went on to work with the prestigious Femi Majekudunmi Architects (FMA) on a high-rise office design for USL.
Lastly he serves as a Director for Urban Shelter as well as its subsidiary company, Urban Abode. He also serves
as a Director for Shelter Clay Products Ltd, Urban Abode Limited and Urban Shelter Ltd.
With over 12 years of international experience in real estate, construction, engineering and project management,
Bachir leads, coordinates and oversees the Residential & Commercial developments and operations of USL. He also

he served in construction management at Clark Construction, LLC in Washington DC; in process engineering at
Rohm & Haas in Delaware and Arkema Group in Philadelphia as a quality engineer.
Bachir is a member, and serves on committees of various engineering, project management and real estate affiliated
organization in Nigeria and the Washington, DC area such as National Society of Professional Engineers, U.S. Green
Building Council and District of Columbia Building Industry Association. He graduated Magma Cum Laude from Drexel
University, Philadelphia with a B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering before completing dual M.S degrees in
Structural and Mechanical Engineering in 2007. He holds an Executive Certificate in Real Estate Management &
Finance from Harvard University.
He is a certified project manager (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in Washington, DC.
He has a graduate degree in Accounting from illustrious Ahmadu Bello University which he followed up with an
MBA from Bayero University Kano. Prior to joining Urban Shelter Limited Yakubu worked in the Niger State
Government where he was involved in a number of key policy dialogues. He joined the Urban Shelter family
as part of the Finance & Accounts team where he excelled.
He is currently the Head of Finance at Urban Shelter a position which has enabled him to introduce new cutting
edge techniques in corporate finance and investment decision making as well as streamlining the operations of
Yakubu is involved in a few charitable and civic organisations based in Niger State. He is also an Associate
Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN).
He is a graduate of Economics (Bsc Hons) in 1989 from the University of Jos, Jos Plateau State. He was
employed with the Kwara State Ministry of Education where he taught Economics, Mathematics, Government and
Commerce in the school where he was assigned. He left the teaching profession after two years and joined
Urban Shelter Savings and Loans Limited, Lagos where he worked in the Banking Operations, Mortgage Credit
and Administrative Departments.
In 1999, Francis joined Urban Shelter Limited, Abuja. During his 16 years at Urban Shelter he worked for
five years in the Purchasing Department before he was appointed Head of the Administrative Department and
Personal Assistant to the Managing Director/CEO in 2004.
He has the responsibility of overseeing Marketing & Sales Unit, General Administration of the company,
Human Resources unit, Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Unit as well as our Land, Estate &
Records Unit (LERU).
Ismail Badru is a Graduate of Accountancy. He passed the qualifying exam of the famous Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in the year 2000 and was inducted Associate member (ACA) of
the Institute in the year 2001. He became a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute in the year 2013 having
successfully practised the accountancy profession for over ten years. Ismail has over fifteen years work
experiences which cut across various economic sectors like banking, manufacturing, financial consulting
services among others. He is the pioneer head of our internal audit department.
He set up the internal audit department, developed the internal audit framework and has introduced several
turnaround policies to safeguard the company’s assets and guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of our
business operations. Ismail is a member of the Institute of internal Auditors (IIA). He has successfully
passed the online Certificate in International Financial Reporting (CertIFR – ACCA, UK).
The internal audit department carries out routine audits of all strategic units and departments of the
company to ensure adherence to our established standards, policies & procedures and guarantee success of
our developmental activities & operations.
